Prisoner by Choice: The Frankie San Story is a poignant documentary that provides an in- depth exploration of the extraordinary life of Frankie San, an immigrant from Japan who fought in World War II and later became an American citizen. The documentary delves into Frankie San’s remarkable journey, from his arrival in Am erica overlooking Alcatraz to his unexpected path towards serving in one of America’s most dangerous prisons, CCI in Columbia, South Carolina.
The documentary delves into Frankie San’s early life in Japan, his experiences as a soldier during World War II, and his decision to immigrate to the United States to attend Southern seminary. It sheds light on the challenges he faced as an immigrant, and how he ultimately found his purpose in ministering to the least of these in the South Carolina prison system.
We have already made Prisoner by Choice available free of charge to the South Carolina Department of Corrections where it is being uploaded to the tablets of about 15,000 prisoners, but we still haven't made our budget. Would you consider helping us reach our full budget for the film. Become part of sharing this story of hope and love in Christ with those in prison...a fitting tribute to the legacy of Frankie San.
